The Halogen light bulb is a replacement piece. It replaces the bulb on Colpo-Master equipment. Colposcopes require light to be able to see and do their job. If they cannot do their job then in a similar fashion, neither can the operator. The Bulb is specially designed to provide optimal lighting that reacts best with the human eye. This in turn helps reduce eyestrain as well as lets the camera capture more naturally. Although cameras are an option on Colpo-Master systems.

Halogen has been the gold standard in lighting for medical spaces as well as operating rooms. As more electricity is fed into it, the halogen bulb glows brighter, and the character of the light generated becomes whiter.  The whiter the light accordingly results in the human eye being able to see clearer. This operates much like household incandescent bulbs.  Inside you’ll find a tungsten filament surrounded by halogen gas-filled quartz encasement. Once electricity is fed into this filament it becomes illuminated, not unlike the incandescent light bulb. Proper visibility for a surgeon or medical professional is important in proper diagnosis as well as treatment.  If the light creates a shift in color it can heighten the risk of an improper diagnosis.

This halogen light operates at 150W as well as 21Volts
